Enjoy a selection of choral music performed by THE GRADUATE SINGERS and conducted by ADYLL HARDY, as well as performance text by acclaimed local playwright JOEL TAN ('Tango') performed by MITCHELL FANG ('Let's Get Back Together', 'Grind'), and directed by THOMAS LIM ('Grandmother Tongue'). ORCHESTRA COLLECTIVE will then join forces with THE GRADUATE SINGERS to present 'The Queen Symphony', a monumental tribute that transforms some of English rock band QUEEN's beloved melodies into an homage to life and all its paradoxes.
Hear the Arutiunian 'Trumpet Concerto' and 'Sonata for Horn, Trumpet and Trombone' by Francis Poulenc, among other music presented by our musicians Yong Lin (trumpet), Lim An Chun (trumpet), Bryan Chong (French horn), and Jeremy Lee (trombone), and accompanied by Pauline Lee (piano).

Orchestra Collective, together with Music Director Lien Boon Hua, makes their debut performance in Beautiful Sunday with a presentation of diverse musical works for wind ensemble by some of Singapore's most established composers. Listen out for melodies from popular folksong Rasa Sayang, patriotic song Singapura, Sunny Island, and other tunes in this concert celebrating our country!
This concert will also feature young saxophonist Ms Alexis Seah, winner of Orchestra Collective's saxophone concerto audition. Ms Alexis Seah will be performing the first movement "Tin's Arioso" from 'Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Wind Ensemble' by Zechariah Goh.

Orchestra Collective returns a second year to accompany some of the best saxophonists at the gala concert of the Singapore Saxophone Symposium 2014. The Orchestra Collective Jazz Ensemble will be making its first appearance at this concert, featuring Benjamin Wong on solo clarinet in Leonard Bernstein's 'Prelude, Fugue and Riffs'.
Also featuring saxophonist 李志远 (Li Zhi Yuan) in《道情》(Dao Qing) by 何清涛 (He Qing Tao), Lin Chien-Kwan in Alexander Glazunov's Saxophone Concerto in E-flat Major, op.109, and Vince Gnojek in 'Escapades for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra (from Catch Me If You Can)' by John Williams.
